24th August 2018 began on a pleasant note with the students of Classes from I – X bubbling with energy to witness the various inter house competitions.

The Just a Minute competition tests student’s creativity, presence of mind and command over language all within a span of one minute. It invites the student speaker to speak on a given topic without hesitation, repetition or deviation.  The participants from classes I & II of all the four houses displayed their oratory skills and spoke empathetically on the allotted topics. This JAM session provided a platform for the students to show their talent and expertise in impromptu speech.

English Elocution competition was conducted for students of classes III & IV. Students were asked to pick a topic. The topics in the competition varied. It was indeed astounding to see how beautifully students had put their thoughts, insights, humour and delivered the speech of consciousness which was fluent and articulate while being unscripted. The parameter for the judgement was content, fluency, confidence and presentation. The finalists’ displayed oratory skill with zeal and enthusiasm.

An Inter-House Quiz competition was planned for classes V – VII. The rules of the inter-house quiz competition were announced. The participants skillfully answered the questions asked. Though some of the questions were very tricky, the teams tried to answer them with confidence.

Every round was a mixed bag with questions from history, sports, books, languages, vocabulary and science.

An Inter House English Debate Competition was organised for the students from classes VIII -X at our school premises. Speaking both for and against the motion, the students debated on the topic: “Which is more important our Privacy or National Security”. The participants from the four houses showcased lot of enthusiasm and we’re very confident and spoke well. The competition was organised with the aim of promoting proficiency in articulation of thought and public speaking.
