LITERARY WEEK – INTER HOUSE/CLASS COMPETITIONS (STD I TO X)

24/6/19 (I-X) Creative writing is an art of sorts – the art of making things up. It’s writing done in a way that is not academic or technical but still attracts an audience.

25/6/19 (I-VII) Pick and Speak or Impromptu speaking is a speech that a person delivers without predetermination or preparation. This exercise is a test of your ability to speak on any topic, usually for a set amount of time. It is considered one of the highest forms of public speaking ability.

25/6/19 (VIII-X) A declamation speech is the term used to describe the re-giving of an important or famous speech. Often this exercise will be set as part of studying public speaking skills. The purpose is to have the student directly experience the power of masterfully crafted language.

26/6/19 (I-VII) A spelling or spell bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty.

26/6/19 (VIII-X) JAM is the acronym for Just A Minute.  In this process, students are asked to speak on a topic of their choice or on a given topic for a minute. It is conducted for students to improve their communication skills. It helps students condense the entire essence precisely in their mind, and speak only the relevant aspects within a minute.

27/6/19 (VIII-X) Debate-The purpose of debate is to express yourself and speak your heart out on a given topic. And you will get the opposition in your reasoning. The art of debating teaches you to prove your point, even if you get the contradiction. It tests your reasoning and speaking skills.

28/06/19 Recitation(I-IV)-Poetry is the essence of literature. To spread the aroma of poetry and involvement of maximum students, a Recitation Competition will be held class-wise for the students of grade I to IV.

28/6/19 Elocution (V-VI)An elocution competition at school level gives students a good opportunity to combat with the biggest fear factor i.e. stage fear. This allows the student to connect with the audience and also understand the concepts of voice modulation.

Students of grade V to VI will be participating house wise wherein the topic has already been given to them to prepare and give their best.

28/6/19 Product Launch(VII-X) Its based on how the students would launch, design and market their product. To encourage the students in their project work as well as their skills in different fields such as convincing power, marketing, innovation etc.
